so yea. history lesson.
mr ng was teaching on the reasons for Gorbachev's failure.
for your info, it was actually on soviet union. last chapter.
so yea, he came to this reason:
opposition from soviet people.
-people were promised reforms and they wanted it faster and more extensively than what Gorbachev could give. Hence people started to demand more, wanted more, expected more, and later, since Gorbachev can't give them what they wanted, they started to go against him, choosing to turn their backs against him.
replace Gorbachev with God, and the people with us christians.
* note the main difference btwn God and Gorbachev: .
that is 'more extensively than what Gorbachev could give' and 'Gorbachev cant give them what they
needed.'.
But God's ability ain't limited; His is everlasting. He could give us all we need too.

so yupp. back to main point. God taught me this:

Many of us are so alike to the people who opposed Gorbachev.
We were given promises by God, given what we asked for, and demanded more.
And when we didnt get what we wanted, we choose to go against Him.
[many of us i suppose la. i am one too i admit].

God gave us promises, so many promises.
But in human's nature, we are greedy.
we will tend to want to have more, even if He fulfilled our promises.
and we jolly well know that God is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords,
we know that He is the greatest above all, that He could give us all that we needed,
and there's no such things as 'more than what God can give.'

Each time when God gave us the things we wanted, each time when He fulfilled His promises given to us, we will go all the way to praise His name, to thank Him and so on.

But each time when God HAVE NOT fulfilled His promises, HAVE NOT answered our prayers, how many of us will start to blame God, will start to turn our backs against Him just because we couldnt get what we wanted, because we didnt get what God have promised us?
I admit at times im like that.

But guess what?

God is calling us to continue to worship Him, continue to praise Him, continue to ask Him, continue to bring glory to Him, continue to share His name even if all ain't given to us yet. It's all just a matter of time. God's timing is just not here yet. His timing is always right. Sometimes, we are all just trying to rush things, but hey, maybe now's a time to change?
To wait for God's timing. Press on. Don't give up. Trust in Him and His timing.
What is promised by Him to us will be fulfilled. For His promises never let go of us.
Just gotta wait for the perfect timing.

hmm.
after what God taught me this.
i realise, haha, its so linked to somethings that i am facing.
God gave me many many promises.
But yet time and time again, i chose to let go of those promises.
& yea, sometimes the promises seem too impossible.
for example yea,
discouragements and such. yea. haha. cos of my results.
and cos i didnt live up to what God used gideon to tell me.
& that that promise that God gave me just vanished so suddenly.
cos its like, my results suck. and that its really so damn impossible.
how will i ever be able to do well for my o's with such results now.
i sumhow sorta let go of His promises.
but haha.
now, im gonna claim all the promises given to me.
The promises that God have promised me is gonna be fulfilled.
Yes it will. =D im holding on to that promise.

every single morning 'sunrise' [somehow la] that I will see,
the beautiful sky and mist in the morning,
it all reflects His beauty.
each morning when i saw them,
they brighten up my day, and brought a smile to my face.
